The Truth About Climate Change

One of the most common online searches on climate crisis is “How do we stop climate change”?

The honest truth is, we can’t! It’s too late, the damage is irreversible, the planet is now taking control by running itself, because of the runaway climate change. The permafrost, the ice caps and icebergs, are melting, the oceans levels are rising. Birds and marine life are not migrating when they should due to the rise in temperature. Other marine life is moving to other parts of the oceans to cool down, causing food shortages in remote villages where ample fish kept the folk alive and in business. This has forced villagers to relocate, bringing displacement and uncertainty.

The wildfires in Australia, Brazil, and the USA are thanks to climate change. The 2018 constant rain and flooding in Germany, the Philippines, and Japan are killing thousands of people and causing displacement and economic crisis.

African farmers have lost their stock and have been forced to leave their farms through drought and the inability to be able to grow harvest. Famine has broken out in Kenya and Somalia

The UN Refugee Agency says the impacts of climate change are adding to conflicts, from Darfur to Somalia to Iraq and Syria. (Friends of the Earth, 2021)

Scientists are adamant that if we don’t stop C02 pollution now, it will e too late to stop runaway climate change. (Friends of the Earth, 2021)

Climate change isn’t a distant problem that will affect us at some point in the future. It’s happening now, and the severity of the problem needs to be acknowledged by those in power.

The Trees are Fundamental to Our Planet.

Trees provide oxygen for us to breathe, home nature and make our planet beautiful with that nature and wonder. But more importantly, trees play a vital role in fighting climate change by removing carbon dioxide from our air.

The Brazilian Amazon rainforest deforestation is been backed by president Jair Bolsonaro. Satellite data from the Brazilian space agency monitoring program shows that a total of 8,712 square kilometres of forest cover was destroyed from August 2020 to July 2021. That is a 90 per cent increase since 2017–2018.

This far-right president has slashed environmental protection programs and encouraged and pushed open protected land to agribusiness and mining. The future of the lungs of our planet is currently in the hands of illegal loggers, gold miners and land speculators. The Amazon has become a free for all environmental crime. The current Brazilian government are in league with this barbaric earth-destroying deforestation of our planet's natural and God-given lungs. It is every living souls' heritage that is at stake here. This is not just about Brazil, this is about planet Earth and the future of humanity.

The severity of this crisis is still not being recognized, acknowledged or addressed with the urgency required. Many countries are purchasing timber from the illegal felling of the Amazon trees. There is money being embezzled from out of Brazil and backhanders are been taken to the local villagers as well as the government. Public-protected land has been illegally claimed and owned, the trees illegally felled, and forest fires started to clear the land, and the government responded with encouragement. New bills making this easier are being passed through the Brazilian government as I type.

More cattle are ranched on the land, causing more animal waste that causes more methane to be released into the atmosphere and the carbon from the burning trees. Plus, the lack of yet more oxygen and sink tanks to absorb what carbon that is already in the atmosphere.

The president and some Brazilian people claim this is propaganda and that the fires are natural or necessary,

I implore you to join the local ‘ Friends of the Earth group’ or ‘Green Peace’ WWF any group that is local to you to help in any way possible. Take note, read the leaflets, watch the YouTube clips and podcasts. This is your children's and grandchildren future we are trying to save here. It is happening right now.
